To install the Android USB driver on Windows 7 / Windows 8 for the first time, do the following: Connect your Android device to your computer’s USB port. Right-click on Computer from your desktop or Windows Explorer, and select Manage. Select Devices in the left pane. Locate and expand Other device in the right pane.

Hi Community,I have a Fuji FinePix A610 digital camera with the latest firmware from Fuji. I DO realize that Fuji considers this an obsolete camera model, but downloading pictures from it via the USB cable has worked on every computer I own, from Windows XP, throughseveral versions of Win 7, and even on my Sony Vaio Win 8.1 laptop. It's a matter of just plugging in the USB cable, starting the camera, and then it shows up in File Explorer, or Photo Viewer, etc. And lets me browse, view, and move pictures at will. I usually import them via Photo Viewer, or just drag and drop them usingexplorer. But, in Windows 10, when I connected the camera, it did the usual 'setting up your device' and then the camera shows up in Explorer and Photo Viewer just like always. BUT, even though I can see the camera and the camera's card listed under the camera's headingin Explorer, when I click on the card's listing, 'External Memory' it says, 'This Folder is Empty.'

If I take the card out of the camera and put it into an external card reader it works just fine and reads the files and lets me work with them. Also, it works on any of my other computers. It DOES show up in 'Devices and Printers,' but I cannot get it to open 'Properties' nor run the troubleshooter, as it gives me this; But 'Properties' doesn't work for anything else in 'Devices and Printers' either. So, I know the camera is good, the card, is good, it works on everything else, but just can't read the contents of the card from the camera in windows 10.Lastly, I also have a Fuji AV100 camera, and an ancient Olympus Camedia, and both of those connect and manipulate their picture files just fine. Many Thanks!!

Hi,Thank you for your interest in Windows 10 Insider Preview. As you know Windows 10 Insider preview is still in testing phase and some hardware might not work as expected due to incompatible drivers. I would recommend you to install the drivers in compatible with Windows 10.Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode:a) Download the drivers from the manufacturer’s website.b) Right-click on the driver and click on ‘properties’.c) Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down.d) Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.Hope this helps.

It seems as if this thread has faded, but repeated attempts to make this work with different 'adjustments' have all failed.I do have a little additional information; The card also happens to fit into an external card reader that is on the USB bus on this computer. When I insert the card, it is recognized quickly, correctly, and all the stored files are accessible. Here are some quick screenshots that show drilling down through the sub folders, and the properties of the same card that cannot be accessed and shows up as 'Empty' when accessed through the USB port on the camera.Notice that the properties when inserted into the card reader shows the formatted file system as 'FAT' and in the post above, when that card is attempting to be read through the USB port on the camera, the properties shows it formatted as 'DCF' Possiblythis is a lead. Many Thanks!! I know I have one, now where did I put it? I know that with the number of Technical Preview users out there now in the millions, they get hundreds of thousands of requests, bug reports, and feedback ideas. I would think that they are having trouble keeping up with it. It's my understanding (perhapsflawed) that an entirely different group of MS people read these posts vs. The Windows 10 Feedback posts.

Supposedly, those are read right by Win 10 software engineers, and these by Windows general support staff. But, there are so many posts that they havehad to write an algorithm to help sort out the ones with higher activity levels. So, may I suggest that you open the 'Windows Feedback' app (search for 'Feedback' from the start menu) and when it pops up, select 'Hardware, Devices, and Drivers' from the menu on the left, then select 'USB devices and connectivity' and then either scrolldown or do a search in the Feedback App's search box for 'Fuji'.You will see this problem detailed there for numerous Fuji camera models. I'd suggest that you 'upvote' each of those feedback topics, and and consider sending a new feedback topic specific to your model of Fuji camera. The algorithm will flag the increased activity in the topic and hopefully draw some attention from the engineers. As for this forum, just our conversation here raises the likelihood that a MS support person might see this post.

I am given to understand that it's all about 'activity.' Many thanks for adding your voice to this issue.I know I have one, now where did I put it?
