Even though a couple of the tracks ('Southern Comfort,' 'Broken Home') had been previously released on the South London Boroughs EP (2005), Burial doesn't sound like a compilation of one-off productions to date, as is often the case with music of this kind.

Burial debuted in May 2005 with the release of his debut extended play South London Boroughs on the label. His followed in May 2006 and was praised by music critics for its unique incorporation of, and styles. Following the releases of the extended plays Distant Lights (2006) and (2007), Burial released his second studio album in November 2007 to critical acclaim. It peaked at number 58 on the and at number 57 on the chart for the Belgian region of Flanders. Untrue later received nominations for the and the, with the album experiencing a 1004% sales increase in the week following the Mercury Prize awards ceremony. Electronic music is music that employs electronic musical instruments, digital instruments and circuitry-based music technology.

In general, a distinction can be made between sound produced using electromechanical means, and that produced using electronics only. Electromechanical instruments include mechanical elements, such as strings, hammers, and so on, and electric elements, such as magnetic pickups, power amplifiers and loudspeakers. Examples of electromechanical sound producing devices include the telharmonium, Hammond organ, and the electric guitar, which are typically made loud enough for performers and audiences to hear with an instrument amplifier and speaker cabinet. Pure electronic instruments do not have vibrating strings, hammers, or other sound-producing mechanisms. Devices such as the theremin, synthesizer, and computer can produce electronic sounds.

A compilation album comprises tracks, which may be previously released or unreleased, usually from several separate recordings by either one or several performers. If by one artist, then generally the tracks were not originally intended for release together as a single work, but may be collected together as a greatest hits album or box set. If from several performers, there may be a theme, topic, time period, or genre which links the tracks, or they may have been intended for release as a single work—such as a tribute album. When the tracks are by the same recording artist, the album may be referred to as a retrospective album or an anthology. Contents.Following the release of Untrue, Burial issued several collaborative singles with other artists—' / ' with producer, ' / ' with Four Tet and musician, and ' / ' with group —and performed production work on several songs for British singer 's (2011), as well as Kode9 and The Spaceape's 2008 track 'Konfusion Dub'.

In March 2011, Burial released the extended play; followed in February 2012. A single compilation of the two extended plays was released in February 2012. Burial has since released several succeeding EPs, including (2012), (2013), (2016) and (2017).

Untrue is the second studio album by British electronic music producer Burial. Released on 5 November 2007 by Hyperdub, the album was produced by Burial from 2006 to 2007 using the digital audio editing software Sound Forge. Untrue builds on the general atmosphere of his debut album Burial (2006), marking a development in Burial's sound through its more prominent usage of pitch-shifted and time-stretched vocal samples. The album, like Burial's previous work, also draws on influences from UK garage, ambient, and hardcore music. English musician Thom Yorke has released three studio albums, one soundtrack album, two extended plays, one compilation album, and sixteen singles. The frontman of the alternative rock band Radiohead since 1985, Yorke's first singles as a solo artist were as a featured vocalist on the singles 'El President' by Drugstore and 'Rabbit in Your Headlights' by Unkle.

Yorke embarked on a solo career in 2006 whilst still a member of Radiohead with his debut solo album The Eraser, an exploration of electronica. The album was released by XL Recordings, peaking at number three on the UK Albums Chart and number two on the Billboard 200, and included Yorke's highest-charting single, 'Harrowdown Hill'. An extended play consisting of B-sides, Spitting Feathers, and a remix album, The Eraser Rmxs, were issued in 2006 and 2008, respectively. Young Death / Nightmarket is the eighth extended play by William Emmanuel Bevan, an electronic musician known by his stage name Burial, and the 100th release in the catalog of label Hyperdub.

It departs from his previous two extended plays Kindred (2012) and Rival Dealer (2013) in that it returns to Burial's signature sound consisting of vinyl crackle sounds, rain-filled atmospheres, and vocal samples that was on records like Untrue (2007). It is also less dance-based than previous releases by the producer, with the percussion of 'Young Death' being submerged by other sounds and 'Nightmarket' being devoid of any drum beats.
